Barbara Mullen is the Artistic Director of New England Dance Ensemble and Owner and Director of Londonderry Dance Academy. Born in North Wales, Ms. Mullen attended the Hammond School in Chester, U.K., a prestigious boarding school for the Arts, where she received extensive training in ballet as well as other dance forms including tap, modern, Latin American, and ballroom.

She attained Royal Academy of Dancing teaching certifications for ballet, specializing in children courses and major (vocational graded) levels, as well as teaching certifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

Ms. Mullen’s performing experiences have included resident company dancer in Tiller Girls London Palladium where she performed in television specials in London and in the Provinces, performing contemporary repertoire and touring internationally with Stafford Dance Company, and company dancer for the Philadelphia Opera Company.

Ms. Mullen has been a dedicated educator and has had an extensive teaching career in dance, which began in 1971 in Philadelphia, PA. After moving to New Hampshire in 1976, she eventually opened Londonderry Dance Academy, and subsequently established New England Dance Ensemble, a youth ballet company.

Ms. Mullen served as an international adjudicator and was the assistant ballet teacher and lecturer in dance history at the University of New Hampshire for 10 years. Recognized by many for her superior technical and creative teaching and her choreographic abilities, Ms. Mullen has also received several awards for her outstanding positive influences and her exemplary artistic services, including receiving the 2011 Charles A. Hildebrandt Holocaust Studies Award. As a practical training supervisor for the Royal Academy of Dance, Mrs. Mullen now travels to registered schools to assess educators as they pursue their teaching certificate.

Andrea Pell is a native of New York and received her ballet training under Thalia Mara, and at American Ballet Theatre School in New York City. She danced professionally with Berlin Ballet in Germany where she worked with major dancers and choreographers including Rudolph Nureyev, Eva Evdokimova, Hans van Manen, Moses Pendelton, Valery Panov, John Neumeier, and Roland Petit. After fifteen years with Berlin Ballet she studied movement notation at London’s Benesh Institute of Choreology and was awarded title of ‘F.I.Chor.’ upon completion of the intensive one-year course.

In 1990 Atlanta Ballet’s Artistic Director of thirty-two years, Mr. Robert Barnett, invited Andrea to oversee Atlanta School of Ballet, and Atlanta Ballet II. She was Artistic Director of both until 1998.

In 1999 Andrea was Ballet-Mistress of Singapore Dance Theatre. She worked alongside international choreographers including Stanton Welch and Jean-Paul Comelin, and assisted Janeck Schergen in restaging works by Choo San Goh. She coached medal winners of the 1999 Japan Ballet Competition, toured Australia with SDT, and was guest-teacher with The Australian Ballet and National Ballet of China.

Upon returning to the United States, Andrea joined the Dance Department of South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. Later, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was Ballet-Mistress and Trainee-Program Director at Metropolitan Ballet Theatre for five years.

In June, 2015 Andrea realized her dream to Vermont and has made her home in Quechee. She is excited and honored to be joining Londonderry Dance Academy starting the 2015-2016 season.  Ms Pell teaches ballet and pointe

Mary Doherty has been teaching dance in the New England area for over 30 years and is a long-standing member of the Dance Teachers of Boston. Mary has studied with many renowned teachers including Luigi in New York City, and Jeannette Neil in Boston. Mary is a recipient of the American Dance Awards highest recognition for choreography. Many of Mary’s students have fulfilled their dreams and are now performing and teaching while celebrating the art of dance. Miss Mary teaches Jazz.

Devereux Geiger is a singer and pianist who is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education from Gordon College.  Devereux has been singing and playing piano professionally since graduating from Londonderry High School in 2012, and has a special interest in accompanying and coaching singers.  Devereux has served as the musical director for numerous companies including the Leddy Center.  'Mr. Dev'  began working with LDA as an accompanist for Triple Threat Theater Camp in 2014.  He then began his first successful season as Musical Director at LDA.  Devereux worked along side General McArthur Hambrick as the musical director of Triple Threat Theater Camp 2015. He is very happy to continue making music at LDA as director of the two choral ensembles and teacher of private lessons

Lindsay Lundy (Bonfanti) began her dance training with Ballet New England in Portsmouth, NH. In addition, she attended Briansky Saratoga Ballet Center on scholarship. Lindsay’s education continued at Mercyhurst University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a focus in Teaching/Choreography. Lindsay has performed with the Lake Erie Ballet, Ballet New England, Haverhill Chamber Ballet, and Mobile Ballet. Lindsay has over ten years of experience teaching classical ballet throughout MA, NH, AL and FL. Miss Lindsay teaches Ballet.

Kayla Zuccara has been training throughout New England for 16 years. She currently is a member of the Tremaine Performance Company and the New England Dance Ensemble and is pursuing a professional dance career. Kayla began her teaching career as a student teacher. Miss Kayla teaches beginner, level one and two Contemporary.

Laura Gamache trained at Londonderry Dance Academy. She continued her studies in dance education in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Laura is a certified Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance teacher. She is married to Justin and is the mother to ten month old Vanessa. She is a successful real estate agent in Manchester. Miss Laura teaches tap and beginner jazz.

Nicole Newman attended Plymouth State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Childhood Studies with a minor in Children and Family Welfare. While at PSU, Nicole was a member of the Plymouth State University Dance Division. Nicole was a member and president of the Plymouth State University Dance Team and was awarded the Dance Achievement Award. Miss Nicole teaches Advanced Contemporary.
